Good Feeling

So today has been an unexpectedly good day. Probably started because last night ended on such a good note. Had dinner at this Italian place by my house. I've eaten their food before, but had never been there (I've just had take-out before). It's actually a really nice place. There was a live band outside on the patio playing light rock/jazz stuff. It was just a nice atmosphere, very relaxing.

Woke up after a good night's sleep, already happy just because it's Friday and I'm very ready for this week to be over with. I ended up getting a $2000 raise for no reason. Well, not for no reason, but it was completely unexpected, especially considering I'm not due a review until February. Every little bit helps at this point and it was really nice to just get it more or less out of the blue.

Then I got to leave work for a couple hours to look at some more properties where we'll be potentially moving our offices to by the end of this year. It'll be nice to get in a bigger/nicer space and actually prove what growth the company has been in the last year and a half that I've been here. It's funny how I go through stages of being disgruntled with my job and actually having fun with it. It could definitely be worse though.

And tonight I'm going to see D21C (The Doors of the 21st Century, w/ Ian Astbury of the Cult singing), which should be cool. My brother got us 50% off of tickets, which is always a good thing. I just got a phone call of some potential disappointment, but hopefully it doesn't pan out to be that way. It would be a sad end to a very good streak, but I'm sure that's inevitable anyways. I just hope it's not today, because it's been a very good day and I want it to be consistently so!!
